Discover the Power of Hydrogen Tracer Technology
Precise, Rapid, Low Cost and Versatile Leak Detection
H2Leak offers advanced solutions for pinpointing leaks in water, gas, HVAC, and automotive systems. Our state-of-the-art hydrogen tracer leak detectors delivers unmatched speed, accuracy, and safety, making us the go-to choice for professionals across industries.
Precise Leak Location
Hydrogen/Nitrogen tracer gas (5% H2) provides a non-combustible gas when escaping the leak moves up through the ground, dirt, asphalt and concrete to be detected at ground level
✓ Ideal for hard to find leaks using visual or ultrasonic methods
✓ Or verify the proper leak location after using other methods
✓ Customers have reported that 92% of leak locations correctly identified and verified using H2 tracer gas
Pinpoint Accuracy
Our technology detects even the smallest leaks with precision, ensuring targeted repairs and eliminating guesswork.
✓ No unnecessary excavation
✓ Lower repair costs
✓ Accurate data for confident decisions

Safe, Low Cost & Non-Invasive
Hydrogen tracer gas is low cost, non-toxic, non-corrosive, and environmentally friendly, making it safe for sensitive environments.
✓ No damage to pipes or systems
✓ Both Hydrogen & Nitrogen are safe for drinking water piping
✓ Helium Tracer Gas is 4-5 times the cost of H2/N2
Versatile Applications
In addition to underground lines, our hydrogen leak detectors can be used for locating leaks in above ground water lines, swimming pool piping, automotive repair of Air Conditioners, HVAC repair, commercial refrigeration piping and many more.
✓ Automotive & HVAC detection to 0.25 oz/year of refrigerant
✓ A/C Systems leak location for automotive repair shops
✓ Field Service & manufacture of HVAC & Refrigeration Systems
Tracer Gas Leak Detection
Our Hydrogen Leak Detectors Work in Many Applications

Underground Water Leak Detection
Pinpoint leaks in underground pipe and lines quickly and accurately. The hydrogen/nitrogen (known as 5/95) is readily available and low cost compared to helium gas. Our leak detectors are very low cost with a payback in just a few jobs. Make customers happy and be able complete more lucrative jobs where competition lacks this ability. The 5/95 tracer gas moves straight up out of the leak moving through dirt, gravel, asphalt and even concrete. Swimming pool piping below pool decks and ground are also viable underground applications.

Automotive AC Leak Detection
Locate refrigerant and gas leaks in automotive air conditioning systems with high sensitivity & accuracy. Many automotive repair facilities lack leak detectors that allow the location of refrigerant leaks while the customer’s vehicle is first brought in for repair. Using dye penetrant is less sensitive and forces the customer to continue to drive the vehicle only to have to return to locate the leak if possible. With the H2 leak detector, 5/95 tracer gas allows the leak location to be found quickly and allows for testing after the repair to insure the leak is sealed.

HVAC System Leak Testing
Detect leaks in commercial and residential HVAC systems to ensure efficiency and prevent costly repairs. Process is to recover the refrigerant from the system and then charge with the 5/95 tracer gas. Locate the leak location then exhaust the H2 mixture to repair the leak. Then recharge to make sure the leak is properly repaired. Once the unit is deemed leak tight, a new refrigerant charge can be inserted into the system. Our H2 leak detectors can find leaks as small as 0.25 oz/yr which is usually much more sensitive than refrigerant leak detectors.
About – Our H2Leak Detection Story
Greg Vaughan started his work with hydrogen leak detectors in 2007, having sold helium leak detectors the previous 10 years. Customers were in HVAC manufacturing of HVAC and refrigeration systems. These companies also sold hydrogen leak detectors for the underground water line market but at a very high price point. Greg knew of much lower cost but just as sensitive hydrogen leak detectors that would bring the much lower cost within reach to plumbers, leak detection companies, government, industrial and commercial developers.
The technology existed with cost of the leak detectors exceeding $10,000 but with the new design that could be lowered to where it is today at less than $2500. For that low price, H2Leak believes that this should be standard equipment for all leak detection trucks/crews along with city/municipality water department crews.
Our quest is to bring this outstanding technology to leak detection professionals to save time and make more money.

We rely on Hydrogen Tracer for quick and reliable leak detection in HVAC systems. Their team’s knowledge of hydrogen tracer technology sets them apart in the “The underground leak detection system worked great for our system. We were trying to find an air leak on a 2200ft line 5ft below ground in clay and sandy soil. The pipeline is plastic so we couldn’t put more than 6PSIG on the pipe. Even with this low pressure, a couple hours of low pressure trace gas flow along with the H2Leak H2 Leak Detector was able to locate the area of a leak 5ft underground within 6ft radius of the leak location. Greg and Kelly were also very helpful with fast shipping. They threw in high pressure hoses and fittings so that we could start tracing ASAP for repair. Well done team!-Jon Watson, Production Engineer- Evonik Industries AG”ndustries
I am a licensed plumbing contractor in Florida. My company started doing leak detection about 20 years ago. Leak detection was performed with acoustic detection and pipe locating equipment. Three years ago I purchased the Hydro Lok detector from Schoonover. It is standard equipment on my truck. With the use of tracer gas it has been a tremendous tool.
I have been able to locate leaks on underground piping that acoustics leak detection could not pick up. It is great for my business when I can locate leaks when other companies have charged for leak locating without finding the leak. Many thanks for taking the time to meet with me and demo the unit.
