H2Leak Specializes in both hydrogen leak detectors for underground water lines and piping and for refrigerant service and manufacturing of HVAC , Refrigerant and Car/Truck A/C Repair. Our leak detectors have similar sensitivity to hydrogen gas. For underground water line leak detection, leaking water is a much bigger leak than a leak of refrigerant gas in a closed system like a coil or A/C. Due to the pipe being located most times several feet underground, only a small portion of the H2 escaping the leak is detected at ground level but that’s not a problem as these are very large water leaks that leak even larger amounts of tracer gas which can be detected at ground level and identify the exact leak location.
Our leak detectors for HVAC and automotive applications have a pinpoint type tip to find leaks as small as 1.10-5 cc/s for H2/N2 tracer mixture (equivalent to approx. 1 g/year refrigerant gas). Sniffing for these type leaks require very close contact to the possible leaking joint or braze and 360 degree movement around the suspected joint.
